Download the
latest version of Proxyconn Accelerator.
It solves the compatibility
issues with Windows Vista.
Only if you don't want to download the latest
version, use the instructions below.
In order to use a version of Proxyconn
Accelerator, prior to 3.30, with Windows Vista,
you need to
turn off User
Account Control in Vista.
To
turn off User
Account Control in Vista:
* Open Control
Panel, then open 'User Accounts and Family
Safety' section ('User Accounts' in Classic
view).
* Clear checkmark for 'Use User Account Control
(UAC) to help protect you computer' and click
'OK'.
* When Vista asks to restart the computer, click
'Restart'.
After that, install
Proxyconn Accelerator.
Vista component
'Windows Security Center' starts showing balloon
and icon in the system tray with Window Security
Alert and suggesting to turn User Account
Control' on. Ignore that message.
When done, please
confirm that your proxy settings are correct:
1. Open Internet
Options
2. Click on Connections
3. Double click your ISP Connection in the small
window
4. Check the Proxy Setting box and click
Advanced
5. Under HTTP type 127.0.0.1 and under Port type
6198
6. Select OK several times - Done!
Proxyconn
Accelerator will now work for Vista !
